IT Implementation Services

The Implementation Services ValuePack is provided for any IT installation program, and includes a variety of services from audit reporting to server installation and configuration. All sizes of project can be accommodated, whether thousands of users across multiple sites are involved, or a single home user.

Each service has been designed to include the essential elements of an installation, audit, relocation or configuration:

Scripted procedures are used in all instances using a pre-approved and tested script to ensure that a uniform quality of service is applied across every action

A dedicated team of experienced engineers is utilised, specifically trained for each task. The team is located strategically to ensure adequate geographical coverage and minimal travelling costs

The engineering teams are managed by field based Team Leaders and Operational Managers. Each rollout is scheduled by a team of dedicated co-ordinators based in the Chessington Call Centre using the latest scheduling software to ensure that each call is carried out to the set program

Full project reporting is produced for each job, including confirmation of testing and customer sign-off

Fully Managed Services within the Implementation Services ValuePack include:

Configuration and Hot Staging

Equipment staging and Configuration Services performed by experienced technicians in a controlled secure environment. A complimentary service to standard manufacturing and build processes, offering installation and configuration of third-party software and hardware to meet individual customer needs.

  • The Configuration and Hot Staging service includes:

  • Bespoke build, configuration and testing of products to customer requirements

  • Load of software images and drivers

  • Verification of system functionality

  • Asset tagging post build where required

  • Equipment storage and delivery

Software Installation and Upgrade

The Software Installation Service provides on-site installation and configuration of customer supplied software, operating systems, service packs and software updates. The service is normally applied at the same time as another ValuePack offering, eg Installation - the most economical method of delivery.

  • Software Installation and Upgrade includes the following elements:

  • Unbox customer supplied software

  • Install and configure software as per script

  • Test software functionality as required

  • Train user if required

  • Complete installation report and obtain customer sign-off

Audit

The Audit Service can be tailored to each customer's exact requirements, be it in preparation for a system upgrade or prior to a site move. A discrete team of engineers will collate information on both hardware and software and upon completion of the audit a report is prepared to the specification of the customer. During the course of an audit Logistics International is often required to provide additional services such as Asset Tagging (see Value Add Services), workstation Health and Safety compliance or Hardware Retrofits (see below, Ad Hoc Retrofit Service).

The Audit Service includes the following elements:

  • On site recording of data as defined by customer

  • Compilation of data off site to produce report

Provision of information in a spreadsheet or database format The level of information required is predefined by the customer for either a low level audit (manufacturer, serial number, location etc.) or high level (basic information plus detail on operating system, installed software including licence numbers, detailed hardware information etc.). If required, specialist-auditing software may be used to produce any level of detail.

Hardware Installation & Upgrade

The Installation Service is designed to give the client a bespoke solution to their customers' requirements and covers the installation and configuration of hardware upgrades (e.g. memory), peripherals (printers, scanners etc.), desktop and notebook machines and servers (including rack mounted systems).

Each installation project is fully scripted to ensure quality and consistency of service delivery. Configuration of core software components is standard (e.g. Internet access or e-mail software), and each system is fully tested according to the clients wishes.

  • The Installation service includes:

  • Unbox and check equipment on site

  • Install and configure equipment as per script

  • Test functionality of equipment as required

Complete installation report and obtain customer sign-off As a complementary service, clients often utilise the Configuration and Hot Staging Service (above), in addition to the Project Equipment Management Service (see Transport and Warehousing Services). The benefits are threefold; all equipment required for an installation project is held and managed by Logistics International; all equipment is fully tested prior to dispatch; kit delivered to site in a timely manner to allow the engineering team to complete an installation with as little disruption to the end user as possible.

Moves and Changes

This service offers companies a comprehensive IT-relocation package for office moves including decommissioning of systems, packaging, handling, transportation, short or long term storage and re-installation of equipment by trained and skilled technicians.

In all cases, a Team Leader is appointed to manage the move, from a pre-site inspection and audit (if required) to hand-over of all documentation including test reports. Specialist packaging and handling equipment is provided where required to handle such equipment as rack mounted servers. Upon re-installation all systems are fully tested for network connectivity and functionality and customer sign-off is obtained.

  • The Moves and Changes service includes:

  • Pre-site inspection including risk assessment for building ergonomics and Health and Safety

  • De-installation of equipment

  • Packaging and transportation (including short or long term storage)

  • Re-installation of equipment

  • Testing of functionality

  • Installation report including customer sign-off

Ad Hoc Retrofit

The Ad Hoc Retrofit Service is designed to provide a solution to short-notice post-installation revisits to amend software or hardware configuration. Dependent upon the nature of the task, a team of trained engineers will attend site, carry out the retrofit as required and obtain full customer sign-off.

  • The Ad Hoc Retrofit Service includes:

  • Reconfiguration of hardware or software as required

Home Pack

The Home Pack Service is designed for home user installations of PC hardware. A fully qualified engineer will attend site with all the necessary equipment (in certain cases the equipment will be pre-delivered to site), install, configure and test the equipment utilising a script to ensure consistency. Additionally, the user can be provided with basic training in the use of the computer, the operating system and any installed software (MS Office, MS Outlook etc.).

  • The Home Pack Service includes:

  • Unbox and check equipment

  • Installation and configuration of equipment as per script

  • Configuration of Internet access and e-mail software as per script

  • Testing of functionality

  • User briefing and system familiarisation

  • Installation report including customer sign-off
